Norman Grove & Norman Springs

In the middle of Downtown Alvarado

Discover the life and times of Tennessee native Lafayette Norman, a veteran of the United States’ war with Mexico and later the Confederate Army. Learn about his past when he provided thirsty and tired travelers with access to their spring, which can still be seen today; however, due to the seven-year drought in the 1930s, the spring became little more than a muddy patch and is now only marked by a willow tree. Though, the rotunda allows you to see into the past.
